Bannockburn Baptist Church

Frequently Asked Questions

General Missions Questions

How do we know what trips / projects are available?
There are several ways for you to keep up with all of the missional work going on at Bannockburn.  You can check this website often for information on trips and projects, like our Facebook page for frequent updates, peruse the missions blog, or visit the missions center located in the Family Center at the church.

Can a Growth Group define their own projects or do they need to join a project that is already established?
While we ask that projects fall within one of the three initiatives, Growth Groups are encouraged to either join a project underway or feel free to start their own. Please inform the Missions Office of your project and send a report as well as any pictures afterwards to Chris King.

How are projects added to the strategy?
Any member can bring proposed trips / projects to the Missions Team for consideration. The Missions Team typically meets the 2nd Sunday of the month from 2:30 – 4:00 PM.

Do I have to be a member of BBC to participate in a mission trip?
No, anyone with a growing relationship with Christ is eligible. All applicants are subject to approval.

I am interested in a trip, but do not have a Passport. How can I get one?
No problem! You can find all the forms you need at the local post office or at the U.S. Department of State website. Please allow at least 6 weeks for processing.
