Bannockburn Baptist Church

Special Needs

Bannockburn welcomes families with children that have special needs. We want to provide a place where the entire family can worship and build a bridge from the home to the church to live a life for Christ.

We believe in mainstreaming children with special needs into age appropriate classrooms whenever possible. This is usually accomplished through the use of an adult “Buddy”. Our goal is to allow the child to hear the Word of God through classroom activities, build peer relationships, and gain independence. The adult “Buddy” is a volunteer who has been trained and a criminal background check has been completed.

“Buddies” will be matched with your child upon your arrival to BBC. The purpose of the “Buddy” is to allow your child to attend their age appropriate growth group in a safe, loving and nurturing way. All parents of children with special needs will be given a pager for contact during the length of their stay at BBC.
